I'm always struck by how the word love is not nuanced in the English language like it is in other languages, yet you wrote about it beautifully in this article, in spite of the limits of the language. Why is it we don't have different ways to express a unique form of love for people versus our love for say, an object or an idea? Maybe we should make up our own words! I really enjoy your writing. Thanks for making me think more deeply about grandchildren, Picasso and the power of music.
