People have such a range of experiences. While I agree it's not ideal to tell people what to feel about art, I also think that art museums are a place where people enter into a dialogue about art--where they connect, create, learn and share and so for museums to be responsive to the times we live in, which means being inclusive and trauma-informed, might not be such a bad thing. :)
